Tinubu Govt Allocates N250Million To Agricultural Institute In Kwara To Repair Road, Put Streetlights In Bayelsa, Kano, Abuja

SaharaReporters’ analysis of the 2024 Fiscal Appropriation Act has shown that President Bola Tinubu’s administration budgeted the sum of N200 million under the Agricultural Research and Management Institute, also known as Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI) - Ilorin, Kwara State for the construction of streetlights in Bayelsa and Kano states and rehabilitation of a road in Abuja, outside its jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, the analysis shows that the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute - Ilorin got a total budgetary allocation of N3,017,842,441 in the 2024 Fiscal Appropriation Act.

The Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute in Ilorin operates under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, as a Management Development Institute (MDI) in Nigeria.

 

The institute has the following mandates: management training; consultancy and advisory services; management research, special and diagnostic studies; dissemination of agricultural and rural information; and policy development for enhanced and better management of the agricultural and rural sector.

The institute stated on its website that it has the vision “to be a world-class Management Development Institute, facilitating the development and application of best management practices for the Agricultural and Rural Sector.”

 

Its mission is “to identify and analyze management problems/needs and develop appropriate interventions to improve managerial practice in the Agricultural and Rural Sector.”

 

However, SaharaReporters’ analysis of the 2024 approved budget shows that the administration budgeted the sum of N100 million under the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute for the “construction of solar street lights at Ekowe, Silga, Bayelsa Central Senatorial District, Bayelsa State,” and the “construction of solar street lights in Tonwei street, Korokorosei community, Silga, Bayelsa Central Senatorial District, Bayelsa State.”

 

The administration also allocated the sum of N50 million to the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute for the “construction of solar street lights in Ekeni community, Silga, Bayelsa Central Senatorial District, Bayelsa State.”

 

A sum of N50 million was allocated to the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute in Ilorin, Kwara State by President Tinubu’s government for the “construction of solar street lights within some communities of Gwarzo/Kabo Federal Constituency, Kano State.”

 

Another N50 million was budgeted under the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute in Ilorin by the administration for the “rehabilitation of access road in FHA, Lugbe,” in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
